Regardless of how long you’ve been a business leader, you probably still have those days when you are keenly aware of the gaps in your knowledge and experience. The challenge for many of us is that we don’t set aside time to work “on” our business rather than “in” it. We might read books, attend industry seminars or even engage consultants, but we don’t regularly schedule time to focus on big-picture issues. The C12 Group is a unique forum for Christian CEOs and business owners who are intentional about business, ministry and personal growth.

Chair

READ BIO

Alan grew up in Houston and is a graduate of the University of Houston with a B.S. in Math.  It was a chance conversation that led to a job at the U of H computer center which launched his 34-year career.  After graduation he accepted a sales position with a major computer services company.  He was smitten by June Watson on a blind date in 1975 and they married in 1976. Then in 1977 they were transferred to N. California at the beginning of the technology revolution.  Alan was an early Sales Director with Oracle Corporation, later ran US Sales operations for a software company that completed an IPO, and retired in 2001 after 5 years as VP of Worldwide Software Sales for a division of Sun Microsystems.

For the past 13 years, Alan and June, along with their 3 children, have been based in San Antonio and were very active in the mission field in Mexico.  They lived in S. Korea, helping families embrace home education, and then served as full-time volunteers at orphanages in Zambia and Liberia.  They continue today to be very involved with African orphan care in Kenya and Uganda.

Having received Christ through grace as his personal Lord and Savior at the age 38, his life verse is Roman’s 5:8:  “But God demonstrates His own love towards me, in that while I was still in sin, Christ died for me.”

Alan is excited to be part of the C12 Texas team and believes that there is great work waiting to be done in Austin, helping Christian CEOs Build GREAT Businesses for a GREATER Purpose!

READ BIO

William “Bill” Sitter is highly motivated and energized to team with Mike Sharrow and Robert Vogel to bring C12’s valuable offering to Christian business leaders in Central and South Texas. Bill brings a combination of business and non-profit ministry leadership spanning 50 years that encompasses domestic and international experience. With an MBA obtained at age 50, he is a lifelong learner who has also gained Board Certification as a Christian Executive Life Coach.

Bill is sought after as a platform speaker, small group facilitator, and workshop presenter. He has authored dozens of nationally-publicized articles in the field of human resources and has published workbooks dealing with the application of Biblical principles in the arena of personal finances. His previous life coaching practice focused on multiple specialty areas that relate to topics relevant to C12 Members, including: Goal Achievement, Team Building, Priority and Time Management, Communications, Sales Techniques/Management; Leadership; Motivational Factors and Personality Styles, Human Resources – hiring and interviewing, Organizational Structures and Removing Roadblocks, and Financial Foundations for Individuals.

Bill sees the opportunity to Chair C12 Groups in South Texas as a clear call from God. His background includes: large corporate sales and marketing experience gained with Caterpillar (US/Europe/Middle East) and domestic general management experience with International Harvester. He built a distribution network that successfully grew sales and profits while serving as National Sales Manager for a manufacturer of concrete batch plants and storage facilities. He served as President and General Manager of three different construction and mining equipment distribution companies and gained valuable leadership experience as an Army Captain. Prior to later graduate education and certifications, Bill earned a BA in Economics. He feels that his “street smarts” for business stem from real world successes and some “learning experiences”. His ability to contribute experience-based ideas has been greatly enhanced while completing a very successful small services firm start-up, which he led for 20 years, and from launching and leading a 20-year-old non-profit ministry.

Bill and his wife of over 50 years, Maureen, moved to South Texas in 1986, and soon after accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. They live in Comal County on the edge of the Texas Hill Country and have two adult children and two grandchildren. Bill sees C12 as providing him the ideal career calling that allows him the opportunity to work with organizational leaders with the goal of seeing Jesus Christ exemplified in the marketplace.

His personal mission statement is “Through Christ, I make a positive difference in the lives of those around me and the lives of those I have yet to meet, or may never meet.”

Robert’s extensive experience in team development, training, people, and systems has made him a key player in the south-central Texas business community. He is sought for being a producer with expertise in operations and program management, lean/continuous improvement initiatives, and multi-facility management. Robert is a proactive manager and keen problem-solver who has proven to be skilled at implementing viable solutions in demanding production settings. His strong strategic and tactical skills have turned around marginal business situations and led teams through technical and cultural change to produce strong business performance. His career has encompassed corporate for-profit and non-profit environments. A life-long learner, Robert attended the University of California-Sacramento and the University of Wyoming.

Robert began his career with HEB Grocery and, after advancing throughout his 17-year tenure, started an extremely successful entrepreneurial niche “Just-in-Time” supply chain organization. Robert then transitioned into the non-profit arena, working with San Antonio Family Endeavors, to build business stakeholders and revenue streams for the purpose of employing people with disabilities.

Robert became Christ’s bond servant at age 39 and has served his church in many leadership capacities, including pastoral coaching, trustee and elder roles. Robert resides in Boerne, a small town outside of San Antonio, Texas with his bride Teressa and their five children (Ryan, Ajay, Ashton, Elijah, and Janna). He has a passion and purpose to serve others for God’s glory since any other focus would be “chasing the wind” (Ecclesiastes).

Dan Walters

READ BIO

Dan Walters is an experienced business leader and improvement coach with a passion for helping other leaders and their teams align their work and their faith.

He worked for 23 years with Saudi Aramco (formerly ARAMCO), the world’s largest producing oil company, as Chief of Staff to various executives.  He was responsible for strategic planning, leadership development, and large-scale change initiatives.  He is a proven, gifted facilitator who has helped diverse executive teams to routinely meet stretch goals, competing objectives, and challenging deadlines.

For 10 years, Dan served healthcare clients as a hands-on change management consultant helping physicians and executives plan and execute improvements to patient care, clinical processes, and professional society governance.

While working for ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm, Dan met a man that inspired a change in the direction and intensity of his career.  He heard a US Army First Sergeant say, “I have learned to be a First Sergeant and a Christian, too.”  Seeing a man that had connected his Sundays and Mondays recalibrated Dan’s focus from just pursuing business excellence to also pursing alignment of work and faith.  As a result, Dan’s inspirational approach to leadership development instills a level of encouragement that followers of Christ can not only run great businesses, but they can also connect their work and faith in a meaningful fashion that’s unique to their chosen field of business.

Dan has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Texas A&M University.  He and Lynda, his high school sweetheart, have been married 43 years and have six grandchildren.  They live in Austin, Texas where he is an elder in his church and leads the Career Transition ministry.
